Tathastu.(May thy wish be fulfilled )

(Geeta- Chapter Three-Year Yoga of Action

10. The Creator, having in the beginning of creation, created mankind together with sacrifice, said: "By this shall ye propagate; let this be the milch cow of your desires (the cow which yields the desired objects)".
11. With this do ye nourish the gods, and may the gods nourish you ; thus nourishing one another,  ye shall attain the highest good.
12. The Gods, nourished by the sacrifice, will give you the desired objects. So, he who enjoys the objects given by the Gods without offering (in return) to them, is verily a thief.)

Since then they travelled through Sat Yuga to Dwapar to Treta and are in Kali Yuga. God's blessings, notwithstanding, the decline in values and sacrifice started in Treta itself when Sita had to be exiled by Lord Rama. Her  Agni Pariksha was nothing against the uncharitable words of a washerman. Lord Krishna punished the wrong doers in Dwapar. Lord Vishnu may reincarnate anytime soon as Kali to re- establish Sat Yuga. The cycle will continue.

1. The God, Prajapathi, created the mankind and said to multiply (propagate) and flourish. They asked for His blessings and He said 'Tathastu' - may all of your wishes come true. They obeyed and settled themselves on mother earth and multiplied and multiplied and are still multiplying. The nature is not in a position to take so much of load.

2. The another was Nourishing,  meaning acquiring worldly objects of comforts by Karma. There was however a difficulty. It was not possible to acquire objects of comforts without depriving some body of his rightful rewards for the karma performed by him. So injustice, exploitation and extortion also took roots side by side.  The guilt feeling was there but it was balanced with charity.

3. The third was sharing with Gods. Here too was a difficulty. The God was not visible. Whatever was offered at His alter at the temple was found lying there only. So it became symbolic in the form of Ahuti- Om Swaha. Some saw opportunity here and built temples for Gods. Some crowned themselves as God. Some hired devotees to crown them as Gods.

Tathastu has worked great for many.
