Winter cold mean different things to different people. For some it is time
for spicy hot snacks with endless cups of tea or coffee. For some it is a
few quick shots of Vodka, Rum or Whiskey. Naturally sale of hot and
spicy snacks with all types of wines except beer goes up. Another happy
lot is the traders of woolens. Government is also happy as the tax
revenues go up.
Doctors welcome winters because that brings in more patients. Hospitals are also happy. Government hospitals are over crowded.
AAP Government is Delhi is trying hard to ensure that all people on the streets are shifted to night shelters. BJP and Congress are having easy time as they have an opportunity to criticize.
And then there are these helpless victims of poverty who are forced to live on the streets. They are the construction workers who build huge mansions but never get to live in them. They always live in the uncovered patios. There are casual workers of the Metro Rail who sleep under the very pillars/bridges they erect. For them nothing really changes. They know there are some people who govern them who keep changing their profiles every now and then and all they get is promises.
The more things change the more they look the same.
